Floral Street

I love the appearance of a true white painted manicure, and it’s a mode I’ve been adopting since I returned from my recent holiday adventure.

The brilliant white nail polish I am currently using, and only using, is Floral Street by Nails Inc. which retails at £11.00 per pot.

To achieve a true depth of pure white colour; I liberally applied two layers of nail polish onto the surface of my nails.  One coat of polish just isn’t enough to efficiently cover the nails as it provided a watery/streaky payoff however, two thick coats of polish should be enough to evenly cover the nails – and should you wish, a third for maximum opacity.

I’m 50/50 on this particular nail polish which is surprising given that I usually adore everything by Nails Inc.  Whilst the colour looks superb after two/three coats of polish, it doesn’t take well when coupled with a top coat of glitter effects nail polish.  I attempted a third layer of polish using a glitter nail polish but during application of the same, the underneath coat of Floral Street smudged and disintegrated much to my dismay. I  thought that this was because I didn’t allow sufficient drying time so I reattempted the process some three days later and the same problem occurred.

Overall, this is a stunning nail polish worn alone or if used to create a French mani tip but I didn’t have any luck with adding a top coat of glittery nail polish.  If you’re not bothered with adding a glitter or effect polish then I would highly recommend this otherwise, steer clear.

Ps.  Sorry for delay/lack of content recently, manic just isn't the word but hopefully I can work my schedule a little better now! xx

Coral Camellia

On my most recent trip to London I took the opportunity to bob into Pixi’s Flagship boutique which is located in Carnaby Street, 22A Foubert’s Place, Soho.

The charming boutique smelt fresh and botanical, a smell that I was quite attracted too, and it wasn’t long before I found myself torn between what I should buy, what I can afford and what I need (technically nothing!).

The boutique is perfectly placed just off the hustle and bustle of Oxford Circus/Regent Street and is the perfect haven for a spot of retail therapy.

The friendly, and knowledgeable assistant walked me round the shop and advised me on a number of products that they stock. She informed me that the ingredients Pixi choose are gentle and kind on the skin and with me being overly sensitive to everything I breathed a sigh of relief.

The Pixi boutique stock an appealing range of beauty/skincare products including the magical PixiGlow Collection; a grown-up collection of palettes, polishes, tints and pencils branded with Tinkerbell, this particular collection forms an official collaboration with Disney.

The boutique also stock a selection of products from Pixi’s sister brand ‘POP Beauty’ however, I ended up choosing something from the permanent Pixi collection; Succulent Twin Lip duo in the popular shade of Coral Camellia.

The duo can be used on both lips and cheeks and contains natural oils which help condition, protect and nourish the skin.

The chalky textured ‘dabber’ is located in the screw-top cap and can be conveniently used to flush the cheeks with its soft subtle colour; alternatively it can be used to base coat the lips.

Located in the squeezable tube is a dense dose of colour in a thick and creamy lip gloss texture.  Again this can be applied to both the lips and cheeks and to access it simply remove the screw-top cap.

Both applicators are easy-to-use and deliver a punch of colour however, I personally prefer to use the squeezable gloss on my lips as it possesses a thicker consistency.  I also prefer to use the chalky textured dabber on my cheeks as it’s less thick which consequently holds nicely on the cheeks and doesn’t crease or look waxy.

I paid £12.00 for the duo which I thought was highly reasonable considering that effectively it’s a multi-purpose and multi-functional product.

You can buy the Succulent Lip Twin duo direct off the Pixi Beauty website (linked below) and it’s available in five fresh shades. I now need to get my filthy hands on some of the PixiGlow Tinkerbell range!

Have you ever tried Pixi or its sister brand POP Beauty?
